Villarreal 1-4 Barcelona - Football Match Report - July 5, 2020

With an self goal from Pau Torres (3 ′) of  villareal and goals from Luis Suárez (20 min), Antoine Griezmann (45 min) and Ansu Fati (87 min), the Barcelona club returns on the way of victory and remains four points behind. Real Madrid.

Barca never give up. After the victory of Real Madrid against Athletic Club today, the best Barcelona of LM10 reappeared and responded in the best way at the La Ceramica stadium, ending Villarreal's undefeated state since the championship resumed, with a great victory by 4- one.

The team which is led by Lionel Messi on the field is reluctant to say goodbye to the Spanish La Liga  title. Although Messi  did not score, the Argentine star appeared in all the dangerous actions of the Barca team and was a big headache for the defense of the Villarreal that offered its toughest version of the last stretch of the competition that had been almost perfect.

The game started better for Barcelona with a lucky goal from Pau Torres's own goal after three minutes of starting of the match. Sergi Roberto made a great move and passed the ball to Jordi Alba, who focused in search of Antoine Griezmann, he attempted to clear the local defender, but introduced the ball into his goal.

The goal gave strength  to a greater dominance of Barcelona and a greater offensive presence than ever, but it would be the good team that would achieve the tie after thirteen minutes of play. A loss of ball from the Catalans was taken advantage of by team Villarreal, who made a great counterattack between Alcacer and Cazorla, who shot on goal forcefully and the clearance of Ter Stegen left the goal served for Gerard Moreno.

Match got very exciting as both teams looking for the rival goal. It was Quique Setién's team that took the lead again on the scoreboard in the 20th minute with a beautiful goal from Uruguayan Luis Suarez, after a good pass from Messi.

The excitement of the match, far from declining, was increasing, but Barca was more authoritative. The second goal gave way to high-quality minutes and strenghth from the Catalan team, with pressure up and a very fluid combination of ball and in which Messi was the protagonist.

The Barcelona team would end their dominance with a new goal, again with Messi as the survivor, who assisted with the cue in the 45th minute so that Griezmann piqued it and scored a goal for 3-1 partial on the scoreboard.

The clarity of the scoreboard and the fatigue which made the game slow down in the second half. Villarreal managed to stop the bleeding suffered in the center of the field in the first half, but without adding a greater presence in attack to make tough for Barcelona who handled the game as they saw fit.

With the game already resolved, Ansu Fati put the visitor's fourth goal on the scoreboard in the 86th minute against a Villarreal to whom the final stretch of the match was endless and that only the performance of Sergio Asenjo prevented the Barca victory from being greater.
